As part of our ongoing commitment to the holistic well-being of everyone 55 and older in the St. Cloud area, we're turning our focus to a matter close to our hearts this March: Diabetes Alert Day. This day serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of understanding and managing our health risks, particularly when it comes to diabetes.
Diabetes Alert Day, observed on the fourth Tuesday in March, is our wake-up call to take diabetes seriously. Did you know...
Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough yet to be diagnosed as diabetes.
What's more staggering, 81% of those with Prediabetes don't event know.
At Whitney, we're dedicated to equipping our community with the education and resources they need to prevent and manage diabetes.
Taking control of your health starts with knowledge. We encourage you to take the simple Diabetes Risk Test—it's quick, easy, and could be the most important minute you spend today.
This test is your first step toward understanding your risk for prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. Visit DoIHavePrediabetes.org to take the test and know where you stand.
Awareness is the first step, but what comes next? We do! Whitney is more than a place to come together; it's a place to grow, learn, and take action for our health. At
Whitney Senior Center offers Wellness Workshops tailored to help you understand your risk factors, manage your health, and take proactive steps to live well.

Thanks to generous funding by the State of MN Department of Human Services Live Well at Home grant, and the Older Americans Act through the Central MN Council on Aging.

Another Whitney Wellness Workshop is Living Well with Diabetes. Living Well with Diabetes is a 6-week group program for people with type 2 diabetes. The program was developed by Stanford University to help you manage your diabetes symptoms, tiredness, pain, and emotional issues, by helping you learn skills to better manage your diabetes day to day.
