NISC's Annual Programs of Excellence Awards - Every year, NISC's annual Programs of Excellence Awards honor and promote the outstanding programs offered by senior centers across the country. Whitney ranked Winner in the Intergenerational and Hybrid Programing categories, and the Honorable Mention in the Health & Wellness category.
 
Nursing program at Saint Ben’s and Saint John’s recognized for diabetes prevention training by the National Institute of Senior Centers - The nursing program at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University has received nation-wide recognition for a joint effort with the City of St. Cloud’s Whitney Senior Center.
St. Cloud Men's Shed Brings Men Together - International Men's Shed movement comes to St. Cloud. Here's what the program does. A group focused on engaging men through collaborative activities met Thursday at the Whitney Senior Center to discuss men’s health and plan future gatherings. The St. Cloud Men’s Shed, a group sponsored by the Whitney Senior Center, is organized through a Central Minnesota Council on Aging coalition. The group aims to address isolation of seniors in the St. Cloud region and first met May 5. It is supported by a grant from the United Way of Central Minnesota.
